I wanted the kitchen to feel elevated but still warm and inviting. Kitchens can be very hard and very cold if you’re not careful, especially when you’re working with stone. The feathery pendants bring softness and movement, and they almost feel like fashion in the space. The shearling stools add that cozy, tactile moment. It’s about contrast. You want a space that feels chic, but also human.

This kitchen works because it balances softness and structure. You have the drama of the stone, which is bold and graphic, paired with really touchable elements, like the stools, the wood floors, and the subtle warmth in the cabinetry. Nothing feels flat. Every material is doing something different, but they’re all speaking the same language.

My biggest rule is to let the stone lead. If it has movement, don’t fight it. Stone should feel intentional, not busy. When it’s done right, it becomes art.

A great kitchen needs warmth. It can be beautiful, expensive, perfectly designed, but if it doesn’t feel inviting, it won’t work. Texture, lighting, and materials that make you want to linger are just as important as function.

People are really responding to stone with movement right now. Stone with expressive veining, high contrast marbles, materials that feel bold and personal. It instantly elevates a space and makes it feel custom.

Stone and something soft. Marble with bouclé, stone with wood, anything that balances strength with softness. That contrast is where the magic happens.
